Choose CUPE

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) is Canada’s largest union, proudly representing over 800,000 workers nationwide, including 160,000 in elementary and secondary schools.

In Saskatchewan, more than 70% of all education support workers are CUPE members.

By joining CUPE, you gain:

  • Collective bargaining power to negotiate fair wages and benefits.
  • Access to resources and support for workplace issues.
  • A network of solidarity that stands with you.

Some of your coworkers in the Chinook School Division are already represented by CUPE. If you vote to join CUPE 4754, you’ll become part of Canada’s largest union.

Your Legal Right to Unionize

Did you know that all workers in Saskatchewan have a legal right to join a union?

The Saskatchewan Employment Act gives you the legal right to unionize your workplace.

“Employees have the right to organize in and to form, join or assist unions and to engage in collective bargaining through a union of their own choosing.”

When you join a union, you and your coworkers have a collective voice to improve your wages and other workplace benefits. You also have the power to hold your employer accountable.
